Francis de Sales was Bishop of Geneva and a Roman Catholic saint. He worked hard to bring Protestants back to Catholicism in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, a society of traditional priests who celebrate the Latin Mass, has Saint Francis De Sales as one of their three primary patrons. Saint Francis is often depicted in art wearing a blue choir dress, and so the approved choir dress for members of the Institute is also blue.
