Farnham’s Crosby Doors factory normally produced wooden doors but during the Second World War the company carried out a government contract to produce ammunition boxes, detonator containers, aeroplane cases, pontoon bridges and radio vans. Until the recent closure of the factory these paintings hung in the Crosby canteen and survive in remarkably good condition.
