Painter, especially of portraits, born in Orpington, Kent, who studied at Winchester School of Art, 1953–5, then won a scholarship to the Slade School of Fine Art, 1955–8, William Coldstream and Ernst Gombrich being notable teachers. Meeres lived and worked in Morocco, 1962–71, also in India. Group exhibitions included RP, 1983; Louise Hallett Gallery, 1987; Michael Parkin Gallery, from 1996; RA Summer Exhibition, from 1997, and The Kentish Town Group, presented by Michael Parkin at The Old Post Office, Leighton Road, 2001. She had solo exhibitions at The Foreign Press Association, 1994, 1996 and 1998. The National Portrait Gallery, Sir Paul Getty and private collections in the United Kingdom, India, Morocco and America held examples. Lived in London.
