Painter who was educated at St Martin’s School of Art and Goldsmiths’ College School of Art, where he gained a fine art degree with honours. He went on to paint full-time, although occasionally he did voluntary work with children on projects and murals. Richardson gained a British Council Award in 1989, then won a Special Commendation in BP Portrait Award at National Portrait Gallery in 1990. Richardson’s pictures were like snapshots and commonly featured bruiser and brutish types, sometimes accompanied by aggressive-looking dogs. Showed in Greenwich Open at Woodlands Art Gallery from 1983, other mixed show appearances including John Player Portrait Award, 1988, and Contemporary Art Fair, Islington, 1991. After a solo show at Greenwich Theatre Gallery in 1985 exhibited often, later shows including Gallery 31 in Lille, France, 1990, and Beaux Arts, Bath, 1991.
