Painter of colourful abstractions that combined imaginary patterns and shapes within spaces that could loosely be described as landscapes. His pictures on board were lined top and bottom with thick, encrusted layers of paint that made the artist’s palette part of the painting. His solo exhibitions included Xavier Hufkens Gallery, Brussels, Belgium, and PS.1, New York, America, both 2003, and The Approach, 2004. Allen’s work was included in A4 Art Auction, Bonhams, New Bond Street, 2004.
