Painter and illustrator, born in London, daughter of the surgeon and art collector Guy Bellingham Smith and niece of the painter Hugh Bellingham Smith. Married the painter Rodrigo Moynihan in 1931, separating from him in 1957. Studied piano and dancing to advanced level, but eventually opted for painting, attending Slade School of Fine Art, 1928–31, where Henry Tonks regarded her highly. In 1930s she showed at LG and Leicester Galleries, having her first one-man show there in 1948, and also completed drawings and illustrations for Shell and Harper’s Bazaar. Her painting The Island, done for the Festival of Britain in 1951, went into the Arts Council collection; the Tate Gallery and provincial collections also hold her work. Finally lived in Bildeston, Suffolk, and died in Ipswich.
