Artist who was born in Petersfield, Hampshire. She was educated nearby at Bedales School, 1970–3, then attended Central School of Art, 1975–6, and Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, 1976–9. She studied at Royal College of Art, 1979–81. Among her activities was work with performing artists, notably the dancer Gaby Agis. Had a first solo show in 1982 at Coracle Gallery, then widely in Britain and abroad, including Victoria Miro, 1989, Museum of Photography Charleroi, 1992, and in 1993 at John Hansard Gallery, Southampton. In 1993–4 she was included in the Arts Council tour Recent British Sculpture. In 1999, Blacker’s large 1988 geometrical abstract Transfer, in corrugated metal and car paint, was illustrated in the publication accompanying the show Bedales & Art Design, organised by William Jackson Gallery at Art99, held at the Business Design Centre.
