Urological surgeon, author and recreational artist, born in Calcutta, India, father of the artist Kitty Blandy. Professor Blandy was professor of urology at The Royal London and St Peter’s Hospitals, was at one time vice-president of The Royal College of Surgeons and was the author of many surgical textbooks. He studied with the sculptor Ivan Mitford Barberton in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1943. Blandy was president of the Medical Art Society and a member of the London Sketch Club, with whom he showed. The Royal College of Surgeons and The Royal London Hospital hold his work. Lived in London.
