Sculptor in stainless steel, and teacher, born in Lithuania. He studied at Art Institute of Chicago, 1962–4, then Royal College of Art. Went on to become senior sculpture lecturer at Cheltenham College of Art for a time. Brazdys participated in a number of influential group exhibitions, including Towards Art II, Arts Council, 1965; Open-air Sculpture Exhibition, Battersea Park, 1966; and the RA’s British Sculptors ’72. Solo shows included Hamilton Galleries, 1965; Arnolfini Gallery, Bristol, 1966; and Annely Juda Fine Art, 1971. A tie-up with a New York dealer meant that he did not have solo shows for some time in Britain, although he did show at RA and did commissioned work for Harlow New Town, some on a very large scale. Arts Council and British Steel Corporation hold his work.
