Painter and sculptor who studied at Vienna Kunst Akademie, 1969–70, then obtained degree in sculpture at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. She spent a year at Rietveld Akademie in Amsterdam on a British Council scholarship and undertook postgraduate studies at Reading University. Bunzl turned to painting in 1980 and showed widely, in group shows – including RA Upstairs Gallery, Hayward Annual and Riverside Gallery – and solo at Odette Gilbert Gallery. Shared an exhibition at Framework Gallery, 2002, with a one-man at Cambridge Contemporary Art, Cambridge, in 2003. Bunzl initially made purely abstract, formal colour paintings, then moved on to more figurative work, which employed a rich palette.
