Non-figurative sculptor in bronze, born Watford, Hertfordshire. Inspiration ranged from the cycladic pieces of ancient Greece to modern buildings such as skyscrapers, lending them a contemplative presence. She studied at Harrow School of Art, 1965–6, then West of England College of Art, Bristol, 1966–9, her teachers being Ralph Brown and Robert Clatworthy. After graduating she worked as a freelance sculptor. Among her main works was a bronze in Tower Bridge Road, London, completed in 1990, and another, Lines from Within, for Castle Park, Bristol, 1993. She was elected RWA, 1983, RA in 1989. Among Christopher’s awards were first prize in the Harrison-Cowley Sculpture Competition, 1968; the Peter Stuyvesant Award, 1971; Birds Charity Award, 1973; and South-West Arts Award in 1976.
