Painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Winchester, Hampshire, daughter of the artist Charles Stuart Daborn. From 1976–85 she was married to the printmaker Anthony Davies, from 1985 to the American film maker Dennis Lanson. She studied at Winchester School of Art, 1968–72, with John Bellany and William Crozier, and at the Royal College of Art, 1973–4, and 1975–7, with Peter Blake, David Tindle and Leonard Rosoman. Daborn took up a teaching fellowship at Cardiff College of Art, 1977, having a studio at Chapter Art Centre until 1983. Had a residency at the MacDowell Colony, New Hampshire, 1984, moving to America to live in 1985, in California until 1996, then taking a teaching post at Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Daborn created her own world of bizarre people and animals.
