Painter and teacher, born in Germany. He studied at Brighton College of Art, 1964–8, then Chelsea School of Art, 1968–9, eventually becoming senior lecturer at Chelsea. He exhibited at John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 1987, having solo shows at Redfern Gallery from 1984 and at Cartwright Hall, Bradford, 1986. Artificial light and space and theatricality were features of Davies’ work, which was “more concerned with the metaphor than the simile”. Lived in London.
