Sculptor in stone who worked in Britain and Japan, but principally held residencies and completed commissions in the north of England. He studied at Sunderland and Trent Polytechnics, 1981–6. Some of Disley’s figurative public works had historical allusions. Thus his Meeting Point, of 1992, in High Street, Spennymoor, relates to the town’s past.
