Versatile artist and teacher who studied at Coventry University, taking part in degree show at Herbert Art Gallery there, 1976, in the same year being a prizewinner at Winsor & Newton Exhibition at Mall Galleries. Other mixed show appearances included Masks, Café Gallery, 1984; London Pride at Lamont Gallery, 1986; A Drawing Show, Waterman’s Art Centre, 1990; and John Jones Open, The Gallery at John Jones, 1994. Awards included Oppenheim-John Downes Memorial Award to Artists, 1985; Publication Grants from Arts Council, 1987 and 1992; and London Arts Board Award, Research and Development, 1994. Had a solo show at The University, Keele, 1975, later ones including Trespass, at Adam Gallery, 1991, and Barbican Centre, 1996. In that, Duffin showed fragile and elegant linear constructions which stemmed from intensive drawing.
