Painter in oil and teacher, born in London. He studied at Hammersmith School of Art, 1935–8 and 1946–50, teachers including Herbert Holt and Harold Workman, then London University Institute of Education, 1950–1. Taught for a time at Plaistow Grammar School and was honorary secretary of the Society of Fulham Artists. Was elected ROI in 1977, also showing with Trafford Gallery, RA and NEAC. Hammersmith Borough Council and Nuffield Foundation, York University, hold his work. Lived latterly at Shaftesbury, Dorset.
