Painter, notably of murals and in tempera, born in Kirkcudbright, Kirkcudbrightshire, where he studied at the local Academy. Halliday was at Glasgow School of Art, 1949–53, gaining a RSA Travelling Scholarship. He carried out many murals for private clients and businesses and had solo shows in Britain and on the continent, including Bourne Fine Art, Edinburgh, 2001. Lived for a time in Edinburgh and in Dunsyre, Lanarkshire.
