Painter in oil and watercolour, born in Surrey. She attended Sutton School of Art, 1965–6, Epsom School of Art, 1968–71, and Royal College of Art, 1971–4, being awarded a John Minton Scholarship. Among various awards won was first prize in the Laing Painting Competition, 1981. Was elected RWS in 1975 and also showed in mixed exhibitions at RA, Leonie Jonleigh Studio in Guildford, Camden Arts Centre and elsewhere. From 1976 had a series of solo shows at Thackeray Gallery. Carlisle City Art Gallery, Chantrey Bequest and National Westminster Bank hold her work. Hawker was a landscape painter whose work was on more than one occasion compared to that of Cézanne.
