Artist in oil and mixed media on canvas, born and lived in Bolton, Lancashire. He studied at the local Institute of Higher Education, 1988–9, where he later taught part-time, and at Leeds Polytechnic, 1989–92, graduating with a first-class honours degree in graphic design. Jackson’s work was “essentially concerned with religious iconography”. Group show appearances included Doppelganger Art, at County Arcade, Leeds, and NEAC, both 1992; and Off Course, at Leeds Metropolitan University Gallery, 1993. In 1993 Jackson had a solo show called Towers of Silence at Dean Clough Contemporary Art Gallery, Halifax.
