Charles Jones was a skilled painter known especially for his scenic landscape paintings with animals such as sheep, cows and deer. He was of Welsh heritage and born near Cardiff. However, most for most of his artistic career he was based in London. In c.1890 Jones was awarded a gold medal at Crystal Palace. Jones also exhibited at various respected venues across London such as the Royal Academy and the British Institution.
