Artist mainly on paper, writer and teacher, born in Newquay, Cornwall. He attended Falmouth and Manchester Schools of Art, did teacher training in Brighton, then took a design and craft course in Bristol. Held several teaching posts: Summerhill School, Suffolk; Mullion School, Cornwall; and Falmouth College of Art. Jones showed in Bath, Taunton, Oxford and Newlyn, being a member of Newlyn Society of Artists. He was included in the 1989 Newlyn Orion Galleries show A Century of Art in Cornwall 1889–1989, also in Falmouth Connections at Falmouth Art Gallery, 1994, and Porthmeor, A Century of Images, at Tate Gallery, St Ives, 1995. His first London show was organised by Thomas Henry Fine Art at Gallery 27 in 1997. Jones painted extensively in the Mediterranean area, Ireland and America.
