Painter, illustrator and teacher, born in Llanberis, Caernarvonshire. After serving with Royal Naval Air Service in 1945–8, Jones attended Regional College of Art in Manchester, 1948–53. Had a period in London as a freelance illustrator. Several teaching positions followed, including from 1970–82 head of the art department at Normal College, Bangor. Had a series of solo exhibitions at Howard Roberts Gallery in Cardiff and took part in group shows at that gallery, Bangor Art Gallery, NWG, RCamA and Royal National Eisteddfod. WAC and CASW hold his work. In 1993 was elected RCamA.
