Bristol-based sculptor and teacher whose realistic and characterful sculptures enhance many streets of the city, examples being his 1984 Horse and Man, at Brunel House, St George’s Road; 1985 St Odilia and the Bird, at Bristol Eye Hospital; and the 1986 John Cabot, outside the Arnolfini arts centre. Joyce studied at what is now the University of the West of England, 1976–9. He became visiting arts lecturer at Bath Spa University and fellow of the RBS.
