Painter in acrylic, born in Penzance, Cornwall, where she settled in St Ives. She studied at Penzance School of Art, 1975–6. McClary said that her work was “about relationships. Themes include human vulnerability, fragility, tenderness and celebration of life.” McClary was a member of Newlyn Orion in Newlyn and an associate of Penwith Gallery, St Ives. Her mixed shows included Eye Gallery, Bristol, and Brewhouse Open, in Taunton, both 1988; Summer Show at Salt House and Penwith Galleries, St Ives, both 1990; Spacex Gallery, Exeter, and Gordon Hepworth Gallery at Newton St Cyres, both 1991; and Marsden Fine Art at Smiths Galleries, 1993. She had a solo show at Penzar Gallery, Penzance, in 1987, later ones including Beaux Arts, Bath, and New Street Gallery, Plymouth, both from 1991 onwards.
