Painter of stylised plants and people, born in Glasgow, where she gained an honours degree at the School of Art, specialising in painting, 1987–91. She gained a series of awards, including an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and third prize in the Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, both 1993; a further Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant, 1996; and in 1997 an Art Now Purchase Prize, Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries, Scottish Arts Club Prize and a Morrison Scottish Portrait Award, special commendation. Mixed shows included Noble Grossart Painting and Hunting Art Prizes and BP Portrait Award. Later solo shows included Rebecca Hossack Gallery from 1996.
