Printmaker, painter and teacher, born in St Agnes, Cornwall, although when he was still a child his family moved to Mold, Flintshire. Attended Chester School of Art and Liverpool College of Art. After National Service, 1955–7, he began a number of teaching appointments, including Exeter College of Art, 1958; became head of department of fine prints, 1963, of fine art, 1979, and took early retirement in 1989. A member of both RCamA and Newlyn Art Society, he showed also at Margaret Fischer Gallery and University College in Swansea in mixed exhibitions and solo at Grabowski Gallery, Newlyn Gallery and Bristol University, later one-man exhibitions including Points of Contact, Exeter City Museums & Art Gallery, 2000, works employing a rich palette.
