Expressionist painter using a rich palette, and teacher, born in Lanarkshire, who studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, gaining a fine art honours degree followed by a postgraduate diploma in drawing and painting in 1991. She won a three-month scholarship at Hospitalfield School of Art in Arbroath. Spent seven months painting in Andalucia, Spain, after completing her studies; taught at her old College and at Glasgow College of Commerce; was artist-in-residence at the Charlie Reid Centre, Glasgow, connected with the National Schizophrenic Society; and was engaged on design commissions as far apart as Bon Accord Centre, Aberdeen, and an arts and crafts shop in Torre del Mar, Spain. Exhibitions included touring show of Scottish artists, Denmark, 1988; RSA Student Show, Edinburgh, 1989; New Generation Show, Compass Gallery, Glasgow, 1991; SSA, Edinburgh, 1995; and Richard Demarco Foundation, Edinburgh, 1996.
