Rüthi was a London-based Swiss painter who studied German and philosophy at the University of Zürich in his own country and art at Watford College of Art and Design and the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Netherlands. His still life paintings were subtle and humorous, as in his oil on board Witness, included in A4 Art Auction at Bonhams in 2004, depicting toy animals. Rüthi showed in England, Germany, Switzerland and America.
