Painter and printmaker, notably of landscape using a meticulous, Pointillist-type technique and rich palette. He was born in Exeter, Devon, and studied at University of Leeds department of fine arts, 1973–7, then at Royal College of Art’s school of painting, 1978–81. Gained the Anstruther Award for Drawing in 1980 and Pimm’s Award for Drawing or Watercolour, 1987. Group exhibitions included Winsor & Newton Award Finalists, 1977; Mall Galleries from 1978; RA Summer Exhibitions from 1981; and Basle International Art Fair from 1984. Had a solo show at Parkinson Gallery, Leeds, 1978, then with Piccadilly Gallery from 1983 as well as abroad.
