Painter who was born in Nazeing, Essex. Was married to the artist Walter Tyrwhitt. She studied at Slade School of Fine Art 1893–4, then again in 1911–12, also in Paris at Atelier Colarossi and at the British Academy in Rome. She was a friend of Augustus John, who drew her and described her as one of the “talented and highly ornamental girl students” at the Slade when he was there. Exhibited extensively at NEAC, of which she was a member, Alpine Club Gallery, Oxford Art Society and elsewhere. Tate Gallery holds her work. She lived for some years in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, Canary Islands, but died in Oxford.
