Painter who often used mixed media, and teacher, brought up in Norwich where she received her art education, as well as Canterbury and Cardiff. Her mainly abstract work employed swirling brushmarks and a rich palette, strong in blues and reds. Taught extensively and received, jointly, the WAC Masterclass Award. Also held many residencies, notably at the Mid-Wales Psychiatric Hospital in Talgarth, and made study visits to Japan and India, funded by South East Wales Arts, the British Council and Charles Wallace India Trust. Commissions included a mural and sculpture for Brecon War Memorial Hospital, paintings for the Japanese dance troupe Kikunokai and a book-jacket for Carol Ann Courteney’s Morphine and Dolly Mixtures. Work is in the collections of CASW, South Glamorgan County Council, many National Health Service trusts and the State of Rajasthan Centre for Arts, India.
