Painter of atmospheric landscapes, teacher and illustrator, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After studying fine art, painting, at Manchester’s Medlock Fine Art Centre, 1985–8, Walls taught, created posters and murals as a community artist and illustrated several environmental handbooks. He painted full-time from 1994. He won several awards at the RUA, of which he was elected an associate in 1999, including President’s Prize, 1998, also The Ulster Arts Club Gallery Award, 1995, and highly commended, Laing Art Competition, 1997. Exhibitions included Higgins Gallery, Belfast, from 1990; RHA, 1991; T Eakin Gallery, Belfast, from 1997; Landscapes North and South, Glebe House and Gallery, Donegal, and tour, 1997–8; and The Irish Show, Albemarle Gallery, 1999.
