Painter, notably of portraits and still life, born and lived in London. He attended Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, 1964–9, then Royal Academy Schools under Peter Greenham. From 1972 Whittall was a frequent exhibitor at RA, also showing at National Portrait Gallery, Judd Street Gallery, Mall Galleries, and in 1992 he shared a show at Mistral Galleries. His commissioned portraits of Lord Henry Benson and Sir Kenneth Cork are in the National Portrait Gallery’s collection.
