Painter of enigmatic, atmospheric oils, and printmaker, who studied at Jacob Kramer College of Art, Leeds, 1980–1; graduated with honours in graphic design, Leeds Polytechnic, 1981–4; and gained his master’s in fine art, Chelsea College of Art, 1985–6. Had extensive group exhibitions, including The Art House, Leeds, 1985; ICA New Contemporaries, 1986; Angela Flowers Gallery, 1987; MAFA Open, 1988; Waterman Fine Art and Leicester City Gallery, both 1994; Yorkshire Printmakers at York City Gallery, 1998; Hunting Art Prizes at Royal College of Art, 2000; and Bruton Gallery, Leeds, 2001. 108 Fine Art, Harrogate, also sold his work. Among his one-man shows were Oldham City Art Gallery, 1987; Sue Williams Gallery, from 1989; Rebecca Hossack Gallery, from 1996; Newark Park, Gloucestershire, 1998; and Michael Carr Gallery, Sydney, Australia, 2001.
