Alexander Morison (or Morrison) joined the East India Company in 1780 and was an Ensign from 1781. Promoted to Lieutenant later that year, he served in the Third Mysore War of 1790–1792. Morison was a captain in the 6th Bengal Native Infantry from 1800 before transferring to the newly raised 21st Bengal Native Infantry in 1804. A major from 1805, he retired four years later and died in England in 1827.
