Charles Allston Collins (1828–1873) was the son of William Collins, RA, and brother of the novelist Wilkie Collins. He married Charles Dickens' daughter Kate and became a fairly conventional painter before meeting Millais and joining the Pre-Raphaelites. He was also an author, though not a particularly successful one.
