The work is set on a circular brick base topped with stone labs forming a seat. There are four uplighters set into the stone slabs. The sculpture, facing north, is of a standing cormorant, wings outstretched. The wings have cut-out designs of fish. It is set on a pedestal that is formed from an old beach groyne. The whole is set in a pedestrianised area with bicycle clamps and decorative stone balls. To the eastern rim there is a seat constructed similarly to the sculpture base.
