Allanson’s abstract landscape paintings display an interwoven connection with man and nature. Using swathes of colour and texture, she employs a visual language that offers the viewer another way of seeing the natural environment.
Before studying Fine Art, Allanson trained as an architectural draughtswoman – a sensibility that can be sensed in her paintings. She taught Fine Art for more than 20 years, partly at the University of Hertfordshire, continuing to paint during that period and having a number of national solo and group exhibitions.
