Portrait of Empress Domitia Longina facing left in a turquoise toga with a jewelled belt, in a blue garment with scalloped neck, brown cloak, with right hand raised to shoulder, piled hair inset with jewels, with fluted a classical column behind. Copied from Aegidius Sadeler's engravings of Titian's series of paintings of the 12 Caesars, destroyed by fire in Madrid in 1734. The Titians were bought by Charles I in the 1620s as part of the Mantuan Collection, and formed part of his prized Cabinet de Titian.
