Edward Walker entered Queen's in 1876 and was a Fellow in 1881. He was Pro-Provost from 1927 to 1930. He had a reputation for giving the best lectures in Greek history in the University of his time.

The artist studied at Oxford and Regent’s Park Polytechnic School of Art and lived at Ambleside.
