A soldier and a writer, ‘Elephant Bill’ was famous for his knowledge and understanding of elephants. His experiences were recounted in an autobiographical book entitled ‘Elephant Bill’. He lived in Lamorna at ‘Menwinnion’, a house originally built for the Heaths.
