A green, glazed ceramic bowl, around the outside of which are arranged 11 crustaceous creatures with plated backs. Their heads hook over the rim of the bowl and their long elephantine snouts reach down inside it, into hollow banded pipes similar in form and colour to their own bodies. Within these, in the centre of the bowl, are green larvae which look up at the adults with eyes and mouths open.
