An idyllic scene, capturing the versatility of the Land Rover, a car ideal for the trip into the great outdoors. Commissioned by the Rover Co., the scene is the distinctive work of Roy Nockolds, a renowned motoring artist. He was a self-taught artist apart from taking some private lessons in figure drawing. He began sketching and drawing motoring subjects in the mid-1920s, contributing illustrations to 'Autocar', 'Motor' and 'Motor Sport' magazines.
