'Henslow’s Walk' by Susanna Heron defines a 22-metre-length interior wall containing four double images carved in shallow relief. This sculpture forms a backdrop to the Sainsbury Laboratory’s lecture theatre by Stanton Williams (founded 1985). Inspired by John Stevens Henslow and his collations of native plants housed in the building, the sculptor aimed to encourage looking as a means for thought, reflecting the influence of Henslow’s work on the aims of the laboratory. The Sainsbury Laboratory was the winner of the RIBA Stirling prize in 2012.
