John Henry Carnie, Esq., JP, was Provost of Kilmarnock from 1943 to 1947. This portrait was presented by present and former members of the Town Council, officials and friends on 15th October 1948. In the upper left of this portrait are the coat of arms of the Burgh of Kilmarnock. It was painted by the Glasgow artist Andrew Law.
