The Russell family owned iron and steel foundries in the nineteenth century. Their London head office was on Charing Cross Road, opposite Leicester Square Tube Station, and their London warehouses were behind Tate Modern, on Southwark Street. The firm in its last incarnation finally closed in 1963.
