Set above the door to the clock tower, this memorial commemorates the three sons (of five) of Sir John Gordon Kennedy (d.1912) killed in the First World War. Those commemorated were Captain Archibald Edward Kennedy, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, Captain Paul Adrian Kennedy and Captain John Patrick Francis Kennedy, both of the Rifle Brigade. The individual full-length portraits of the brothers are depicted against a battlefield setting. Underneath each panel is an inscription. It was presented by the subjects' widowed mother, who was born Evelyn Adela Bootle-Wilbraham. Her sister, Ada Constance Bootle-Wilbraham (1846–1934), was married to Onorato Caetani, 14th Duke of Sermoneta, who was younger brother of Ersilia Caetani-Lovatelli, the mother of Filippo Lovatelli, sculptor of the monument.
