Founder Robert Baden-Powell dressed in his Worshipful Company of Mercer's regalia. The sculpture is positioned on a wooden plinth with inscription and the Scouting 'Gone Home' symbol.

Robert was admitted to the Mercers in 1879 and served as Master of the Mercers' Company in 1913.

There has been a long family association with the Mercer’s Company, Robert Baden-Powell’s father, the Reverend Baden Powell, had been admitted in 1822. Today, the Baden-Powell family are still active members.
