A Chinese soapstone figure, possibly a deity or sage, carved from grey-green and brown soapstone. It appears to have fish scales from the waist down on the figure's right, although this may be a garment as the left leg is bent. The figure stands on a carved grey soapstone fish base but is now separated from it.
