Ethel Walker studied at the Westminster and Slade Schools of Art under Fred Brown. She was the first woman artist to be elected a member of the new English Art Club, and is perhaps best known for her atmospheric paintings of Robin Hoods Bay on the east coast of England, where she had a studio for many years. Her work is included in the collection of the Tate.
